'Down Cove' is an area of Durrell at Twillingate, Newfoundland and Labrador. It's a local phrase for Lower Jenkins Cove and home to a long history of fishing. A stage is a fishing shed where fish are landed and cleaned. It is built on logs filled with stone to withstand the forces of tides and ice. The stages Down Cove are minimal compared to its hayday.
