'Down Cove' is an area of Durrell at Twillingate, Newfoundland and Labrador.  It's a local phrase for Lower Jenkins Cove and home to a long history of fishing.  A stage is a fishing shed where fish are landed and cleaned. It is built on logs filled with stone to withstand the forces of tides and ice.
